Spurs add defence and depth

SUCCESS

Obviously, not being a great defensive team, the spurs could use some defensive players and Timelord with Tisse could be a very good package and fit. Both players deserve a bigger role than what they're getting on the blazers are are definitely considered as trade candidates for them. Zach Collins had a very shaky season and so adding someone like Timelord puts a bit more pressure onto him to succeed. I definitely wouldn't mind the spurs looking to trade away Collins but I think this could be a crucial first step, giving him some pressure. Timelord, as we know, has suffered some injuries and is a very undersized big. However, he is monster shot blocker and a lethal lob threat. If the spurs can manage to secure a new starting point guard in this years draft, Timelord and Tre would be a very fun duo to watch off the bench. As far as Tisse goes, he is ready to start right away. The spurs may or may not draft a wing, entirely depending on whether or not they claim Toronto's pick (Top 6 protected). Regardless, I think with Tisse's amazing defence and decent 3 point shooting ability, he would at least claim this starting spot for the near future.

What do the Blazers get from this? Surrounding, Scoot and Anfernee with shooters is definitely a must. They are both pretty ball-dominant playmakers so it would make sense to go after shooters. Champagnie is a 22 year old starter who shoots 37% from three for his career. He is on a very appealing contract, earning only 3 mil per year for another 3 years. This skill, and at this age, and at this contract makes for very good reasons for why the Blazers would be interested. Charles Bassey, like Timelord has had a bit of an injured career however, I still think if given the chance he could be a very positive player. He is nice in the pick and roll and will not be scared to dunk it. His shot blocking is great at the rim too. There just isn't a huge sample size for him in the league but stats show that he excel in the G League. Along with a bunch of 'why not' second-round picks that the spurs have lying around, this trade could just look a little more appealing to the Blazers. It is worth noting that the Spurs have a bunch of second rounds picks that they obviously wont be able to use, this trade still allows the spurs to have at least 1 second round pick every year.

This is my first post so lmk how you feel.
